Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs, and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells can't. But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper can. And you discover that the person you thought you were is NO match for the one you really are.

My Shred: Day #11

I DID NOT want to get up this morning.  I felt like I had just laid my head on my pillow when my alarm started to sound.  Ugh.  But I got up anyway.  And I'm glad I did.  I always feel better after I workout, especially if I didn't want to.  Those are the hardest mornings and usually the most needed.

2 miles

And ready to go back to bed.

I think the days are not only getting shorter, but colder too.  It's a little chilly in the wee hours of the morning....until I start running.  This morning I was feeling ambitious.  I ran STAIRS!  I know. Crazy, right?  But I LOVE LoVe LOVE it.  Beautiful pain.

10 step back lunges (each side)
25 heel raises
25 pidgeon toed heel raises
25 duck foot heel raises
20 single foot heel raises (each side)
50 squats
10 step back lunges (each side)

My Shred: Day #9

Wednesday

Have I ever mentioned how beautifully peaceful it is in the morning?  If you haven't experienced the serenity, then you need to get up early, get a light blanket, a chair and sit outside to watch the sun rise.  Everything starts to come alive.  It's emotion that plants itself into your bones.

What makes it even more wonderful is to run in the stillness.  I love it!  The crisp morning air does wonders for the soul.  It does for mine anyway.  This morning I had a fantastic time running.  Although I didn't run far (because of the graceful world of being a woman), I did enjoy the beauty around me.

Here's how I did this morning:

1.5 miles

25 crunches
25 bicycles
25 reverse bicyles
20 twist crunches
20 hip rock n' raise (p90x)
25 crunches

Shred Day 8

It took me at least 10 extra minutes to get out of bed this morning.  Being on the RAG plus starting new just don't mix well.  So, I only did half of what I had planned and I feel great.  Something is always better than nothing.  My real accomplishment today was not the workout, but getting up to do something.  I did.

But here is my workout anyway:

Biggest Loser Power Sculpt
-warm up
-workout #1
-cool down

I was going to do workout 1 & 2, but I remembered I don't like the blonde chick.  So, I skipped it.

Happy Exercising!

My Shred: Day #7

Monday

OH how it feels so good to be working out again.  I was able to run farther than I thought I was going to be able to.  I thought because of my being sick I would have to walk most of my mileage today.  Not so.  WooHoo!!  So here is what I did:

2.81 miles

25 crunches
25 bum lifts
30 twist crunches (15 each side)
25 bicycles
25 reverse bicycles
25 crunches
25 hip rock n' raise (p90x style)
25 crunches
15 bridges

Happy Exercising!

Shredding vs. the Mastitis

Mastitis is trying to get the better of me.  EVERY time I start up an exercise program, a couple weeks in, I seem to get it.  Oh man.  This week was the worst bout of it yet.  It kept me down and out for almost a whole week.  This is the 4th or 5th time I've had it with my Green Bean.  SO,  I'm finished.  NO MORE BREASTFEEDING. And hopefully, NO more Mastitis.

I'm thinking tomorrow I will get exercising again.

Shred Day #7.  Here I come. . . .

My Shred Day #6

Monday:

After a week of sick babies and less than enough sleep, I was unsure as to whether or not my body was actually going to fall out of bed this morning.  It almost didn't make it, but my bowels made the ultimate get out of bed decision.

Todays run felt great to be out.

run: 2.36 miles
my own concoction of abs.
